“I'm not the man I used to be when I left.”[1]

As the poet said [2]: "it is necessary to set sail". But when we leave behind our loved ones, it's hard to make a journey into the unknown.

I traveled light, I left everything behind. I crossed seas and oceans in paper boats. I fled under the stars by train. I challenged the borders with my calloused feet. Hopes and dreams fed me.

To come and go, to migrate . . .

The history of humanity is a map of voluntary or involuntary displacement of people and goods from one country to another. In this globalized world, it is becoming more common to find personal stories characterized by displacement. Our art invites a reflection upon migrants, people that for various reasons had to leave their homeland.

A sudden mass influx of refugees presents enormous challenges to the countries that open their borders. A clash of civilizations is bound to take place and it reveals underlying fears, insecurities, and prejudices. It is a social phenomenon as old as mankind itself.
